Roderique (“Rod” for short) S. Hobson has been an attorney for an astounding 34 years and has had his own practice since 1982. Rod is a Lubbock-native through and through. After graduating high school from Lubbock Monterey, he attended under-grad at Texas Tech University. After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree, Rod continued his education by attending Law School at Texas Tech.
Although Rod is a Red Raider through and through, he showed his support for the University of Texas, Tarleton University, and SMU as long as his three daughters were in attendance at their respective universities. Along with 3 daughters, his family also includes his wife, whom you will likely meet in the office. Rod and his family are major dog lovers – he has 3 dogs himself, and also has 3 “grand-dogs” ranging in size from 6 pounds all the way up to 142 pounds.
One thing you will notice immediately walking into the office is that Rod loves to collect art glass, all things unusual, and all things fun. Another thing you’ll notice walking into the office is that he loves the experience of different cultures and the experience of traveling, both across the United States and abroad. In his years, Rod has traveled to Canada, China, Hong Kong, Macau, England, Spain, Porto Rico, Dominican Republic, Morocco, Gibraltar, Portugal, and Mexico.
In addition to traveling in his free time, Rod also enjoys quite an active lifestyle. He loves to ride his road bicycle in the ideal flat terrain that Lubbock and West Texas so abundantly provide. Yoga is another activity that Rod enjoys, and has been doing so for many years.
Another thing you may find quite interesting about Rod is that he loves Segways. Yes, Segways! He loves to Segway SO much that he actually bought 2 of them for his wife’s birthday! They Segway to Lubbock’s Friday Friday Art Trial, to Lubbock’s Farmer’s Market, and all over Lubbock’s Downtown area, Texas Tech, and Mackenzie Park.
